Tele2 this week hooked up in Moscow 150 000 subscribers

Operator Tele2 from 22 to 29 October, 150 000 connected subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region, said the representative of the company Konstantin Prokshin. Four days after the beginning of work of the operator in the capital, the number of connected subscribers has exceeded 116 000.

Since last Thursday, residents of the capital region is actively connected to the network Tele2 in 400 mono-brand stores and retail networks of partners, such as “Euroset”, “Svyaznoy”, “Mail of Russia”, the retailer Pyaterochka, as well as more than 10 000 points of sales in Moscow and the region. More than 70% of all connections falls on monobrand sales channel.

To launch the network in Moscow and Moscow region Tele2 has collected about 30 000 pre-orders for the connection.

Moscow Tele2 offers subscribers four tariff plan, which is 25-50% cheaper than similar competitors ‘ tariffs of the “big three”. In addition, the operator subsidises the connection of subscribers on the MNP (mobile number portability). In the first six months since launch, the visitors can go to Tele2 and other operators for free (normally this service costs 100 roubles).

Fully cover the region with its networks, the company intends before the end of 2016. During this time, it is expected that the operator will become available in the Moscow metro. Currently to use the services of Tele2 only at the stations “Troparevo”, “Belarus”, “Kotelniki”, “Zyablikovo” and “Business center”.

The Tele2 network in Moscow includes about 5,000 base stations (BS) in 3G and around 2 000 BC in the LTE standard. The network deployed at frequencies of 800 MHz, 2.1 GHz and 2.6 GHz. Operator in the capital there is no GSM frequencies, therefore it does not provide services to the owners of “button” phones, which in the Metropolitan area about 40%. Tele2 is focused on customers-smartphone users. According to the company, the penetration of 3G devices in the Metropolitan area currently accounts for about 65%, of LTE devices – 14%.
