At the beginning of year it became known that Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer is preparing to release a new smart watch running Android Wear 2.0. The presentation of the novelty will take place in the near future.
On Twitter page, Tag Heuer has a teaser, hinting at the imminent announcement of a new “smart” hours. The fashion show will be held on Tuesday, March 14.
Platform Android Wear 2.0 has officially debuted last month. One of the innovations was the ability to choose the apps and download them directly on the watch from Google Play Store. If the smart chronometer supports cellular communication, the user does not even have to connect the gadget to the phone.
Earlier, the head of TAG Heuer Jean-Claude Biver said that the new smart watch TAG Heuer will have better screen, GPS support and can offer customers long-lasting battery life. The Swiss will release two versions of hours — male and female. They will work under the operating system Android Wear 2.0.
By the way, this will be the second in a row TAG Heuer watches on Android. In 2015, the Swiss company released a luxury smart watch called TAG Heuer Connected.
It is worth noting that in 2016 around the world were sold 21.1 million “smart” hours. It is only 1% more compared to 2015, when sales amounted to 20.8 million units. Apple by the end of 2016 took 55% of the market, Samsung is 11.4%. All the other manufacturers together hold 33.6% of the industry.
