Swiss TAG Heuer cannot cope with the demand for their first smart watch

In early November, the luxury watch brand TAG Heuer has officially unveiled “smart” watch Carrera Connected. This is the first wearable computer, created by the Swiss manufacturer. The demand created in collaboration with Google and Intel product exceeded all expectations: despite the high price of $1500, “smart” watches do not stay on store shelves.

The device has a traditional manufacturer of case with bezel and lugs entirely made of titanium planted on a textured polymeric strap with buckle closure. In General, TAG Heuer Connected looks like a real chronograph with one difference – instead of the dial on it LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels protected by sapphire glass.

Inside the case diameter is 46 mm and thickness of 12.8 mm is the Intel Atom Z34XX, which is built on the principle of single-chip systems – all functional elements are located on a single integrated circuit. The amount of permanent memory is 4 GB, the built-in battery capacity of 410 mAh.

At the presentation, which demonstrated the smart watch in action, reported that they are working on Android Wear and can be paired with smartphones running Android (version 4.3 and above) or iOS (version 8.2 and above).

According to the head direction on the issue of hours of holding LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH) Jean-Claude Biver, the demand for the gadget is very high, the total amount of orders, retailers, agents, and subsidiaries for the supply of Carrera exceeds 100,000 units. Therefore, according to Werner in an electronic message in response to requests from retailers, the decision in the coming months to increase the production of smart-hours to 2,000 copies per week. Currently TAG Heuer produces weekly 1200 pieces of “smart” watches Carrera. Online sales of plug-in hours will likely be suspended until may or June to give priority to conventional shopping.

“Given the success of these hours, we will develop a collection of different variations and materials at the end of next year or early 2017, said Jean-Claude Biver. — A new collection could include a version in a gold case decorated with diamonds”.

Note that Apple only for the III quarter of 2015 has sold around 4 million Apple Watch.
