According to insiders, the new flagship of the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be introduced in January 2016. Presenting Galaxy S7 in the first month of the year, the South Korean brand hopes to better compete with the iPhone 6s.
In recent years, Samsung has showed the flagship Android smartphones in the framework of the exhibition Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which takes place in late February — early March. Up-to-date model, Galaxy S6, was announced March 1. Along with it was shown a curved variant of the smartphone, Galaxy S6 edge, a screen which is “rounded” on the edges. Sales of the new products launched in April.
In August, Samsung presented a model Galaxy S6 edge+, which moved into the category of phablets, and Galaxy Note 5, which is usually updated in September at the Berlin exhibition IFA. Sliding the timing of the announcement a couple of weeks earlier, the Korean company pursued the same goal: get ahead of Apple, which holds the presentation of the next iPhone in the fall.
According to reports, the Galaxy S7 will be released two months earlier than its predecessor and will be the answer to Samsung’s competitors in the high-end segment, particularly iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The design of the new smartphone was completed in September.
According to rumors, there will be two models: premium and supremely. The first will be equipped with Exynos processor and modem on one chip (SoC), the second processor and the modem will be disconnected. The smartphone interface will be implemented a function similar to the 3D Touch, but there were also the USB connector.
Samsung faces competition not only Apple, but also less known manufacturers. According to analysts, by the end of 2015 shipments of smartphones Samsung will be reduced by 1% for the first time for the year.
