SoundCloud launched its own streaming service SoundCloud Go to compete with Apple Music

The company SoundCloud has launched its own streaming service designed to compete with Apple Music. Go SoundCloud lets you listen to music in streaming mode, within one month of service is free.

The subscription price for SoundCloud Go is $9.99 a month for web interface and Android devices and $12.99 for iOS devices. The difference in price is due to the App Store Commission of 30%. Existing subscribers SoundCloud Pro Unlimited will have to pay $4.99 per month.

SoundCloud Go provides access to the music library from 125 million tracks from 12 million authors at the time of launch. For comparison, Apple’s Music library has “only” 30 million songs. However, in SoundCloud music quite specific content — this is mainly remixes, demos, podcasts, etc.

Tracks available for free listening, but limited to 30 seconds. The service has signed contracts with major recording studios, including Sony Music. At the moment SoundCloud Go works in the USA.

Launched in 2008, the service SoundCloud is a platform for distribution of digital music with a social component, known for its indie music. According to the developers, indie music is not going anywhere, but the library will significantly increase.

About his plans to enter the market of streaming service SoundCloud announced in January. Without additional funding, as suggested by observers, the service may be closed. Audience on SoundCloud has 175 million people.
