Sony has announced the release of its own messenger application for mobile devices running iOS and Android. It was singled out from official PlayStation App client in a separate app for messaging.

“The PlayStation Messages will help you to instantly know who is online and send messages to your friends and favorite bands from your mobile device. Keeping in touch with fellow players, you will be able to talk about the games you love to play even when the PS4 is not next to you”, – stated in the message of the company.

Using PlayStation Messages for iPhone and iPad users can check the list of your friends and immediately see who is on the network and that he plays, send text or voice messages, pictures and stickers (supports group chats up to 100 people) and quickly open group messaging from your list of favorites.

Sony stressed that the application supports all standard functions: text and voice messages, text conference and sending attached files. The key difference PlayStation Messages from WhatsApp and Viber is in the set of case stickers with the heroes of console exclusives.
