Several manufacturers of Android smartphones, including Huawei, Oppo and Samsung Electronics, decided to develop foldable smartphones. It is reported by DigiTimes.

According to Richard Yu, CEO Huawei Consumer Business Group, at the moment the company is developing a folding smartphone that will be available before the end of 2018. Other manufacturer of electronic devices, Oppo has applied for a patent that describes the production of folding screens.
New phones interested not only Chinese brands but also Korean. As Oppo, Samsung has applied for patents related to the technology of production of foldable displays. In addition, in autumn there were rumors that the company is working on Android for bendable smartphones.
Other sources indicate that LG Display is currently developing foldable displays — possibly in collaboration with Apple. In this connection, the LG would have an advantage if it decides to develop a new type of smartphone.
