Skype has the opportunity to share files up to 300 MB without Internet access

Microsoft has extended the capabilities of video communication service Skype. In particular, it now allows to share with other users the files up to 300 MB.

Microsoft claims the maximum size was chosen according to the test results. The specified volume is sufficient to meet the needs of users and not overload the servers. While it covers the vast majority of files that users transmit via Skype.

Another novelty is that to share files you can even a user who is offline. All submitted photographs and documents stored in the chat for 30 days, with the passed contents will be synchronized on all user devices on which Skype is installed.

Alternatively Skype for large file transfer specialists recommend the use of Microsoft cloud service OneDrive, which is free and you can store up to 5 GB of files.
