It became known that Apple hires contractors to listen to users' conversations with the voice assistant Siri. A former employee of such a company told reporters that quite often contractors would find out confidential information about the owners of Apple devices, for example, doctors' reports, details of business transactions and even evidence of sexual contacts.
“There were countless records of private conversations between doctors and patients, commercial transactions, sexual contacts and even, it seems, crimes,” writes The Guardian from a source. These records were accompanied by the user's location data and contact information.
According to the source, interactions with Siri are sent to special employees who listen to the recordings and evaluate them on a number of indicators. For example, was the assistant's call random or intentional, did his answer help, etc. All this is done in order to improve the service. The most interesting thing is that Apple never mentions that the records are handled by "live" employees.
The Guardian company reported that only a small part of the records is analyzed. In addition, when analyzing the records are impersonal, Apple ID is not tied to them. Less than 1% of daily voice assistant interactions are checked.
