Payment system Pay Apple in the future will be able to work with the cards “the World”. This was stated by the President of Sberbank German Gref at the conference “More than teaching: preparing the leaders of the digital world” at the Corporate University of Sberbank.
In his speech he said that Sberbank is preparing to launch Samsung Pay. “Samsung Pay now in work. I think that in the near future we will also include it,” said Gref. He noted that, most likely, the Bank will launch the service with two global payment systems — MasterCard and Visa.
According to Gref, Sberbank continues to negotiate on expanding the number of partners previously launched with the MasterCard payment service Apple Pay.
“With Visa and we are in contact. I think that Visa and the card “the World” in the end, will be connected to these systems,” he said.
National system of payment cards (nvqs), which serves the Russian card “the World”, started in Russia on 1 April 2015. The need of its creation came in the summer of 2014 when Visa and MasterCard because of U.S. sanctions against Russia stopped servicing cards of some Russian banks (SMP Bank, InvestCapitalBank, the Bank “Russia” and Sobinbank). After this was adopted the law on the National system of payment cards. The document obliges the international payment systems to move their processing on the territory of Russia.
Payment service Apple Pay earned in Russia on 4 October. Currently the system only works with cards of the savings Bank MasterCard. From 4 November, according to sources, Apple Pay will join the second phase of the banks.

Earlier media reported that Apple Pay would begin working with Bank cards Visa in Russia in December. “It is planned to launch on the Visa on 1 December”, – said the interlocutor of the edition, adding that negotiations are still ongoing and no specific date can be specified.
