Sapphire failure: the manufacturer of the glasses has filed a lawsuit against Apple

22 Jan 2018 manufacturer of sapphire glass Hebei Hengbo Fine Ceramic Material has decided to appeal the terms of the contract with Apple and filed for a Corporation in court, reports AppleInsider.
Details of the claim were not disclosed, but we know that the plaintiff demands to renegotiate part of the contract concerning the extraction of purified fused aluminum oxide — material needed for the production of sapphire glass. Hebei Hengbo Fine Ceramic Material wants, that business was considered by Board of jurymen of District court of Northern California. In addition to the cancellation of the agreed terms of the contract, the plaintiff intends to seek compensation for the bad deal. Most likely, the amount claimed exceeds 75 000 dollars, so the lawsuit may engage in U.S. Federal court.
Apple unsuccessfully trying to equip your gadgets durable sapphire glass for quite some time. In 2014, the Corporation has patented methods of producing heavy-duty material. But to use them in mass production failed. Apple has signed a contract with GT Advanced Technologies to build a plant to produce sapphire glass in the United States. The project cost was estimated at nearly $ 900 million. The Corporation had to invest about 450 million when GT Advanced Technologies filed for bankruptcy.
Since then, Apple has not managed to establish mass production of safety glasses. In early 2018, the sapphire crystal used in the device of the Corporation is quite limited: for some versions of Apple Watch, scanner fingerprint and to protect the lenses from major lens cameras.
