Samsung has suspended production of the flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 7 . At this step the developer went after registered the threat of overheating and fire devices due to battery life issues. As reported by Yonhap News Agency, the decision was taken after consultation with the regulatory authorities of the United States, South Korea and China.
According to sources, temporarily will not work the Samsung plant in Vietnam, which is directly involved in the production of Galaxy Note 7 for export and international shipments.
In early September, Samsung asked the owners of their Galaxy Note 7 with the recommendation as soon as possible to exchange the device. In Seoul explained that the gadgets can overheat during use and explode. The reason was problems with the battery, because inside smartphones has been installed battery is defective.
All Samsung has recalled about 2.5 million of previously sold devices in different countries. Two days after the start of the return campaign developer lost $22 billion.
Again over the past week there have been some reports on the overheated Galaxy Note 7. Samsung has officially not commented on the intention to stop the production of smartphones, however, said that the inquests will take all the necessary steps.
In early October, sales of Galaxy Note 7 was renewed in South Korea. On the first day of sales, October 1, the company sold 16,000 devices. In the future, according to analysts, the sales volume could rise to 20 000 smartphones per day.
Previously Samsung said that some models of its washing machines can be unsafe because of a bomb threat. With such statement the company made after several American consumers complained that their washing machine blew up.
