Samsung smartphones have turned into the device to steal money from Bank cards

The information security specialists has demonstrated a new type of skimmers, the main of which are the Samsung smartphones. Device to steal money simulates in appearance the front panel of a banking terminal.

Fraudsters have developed a skimmer-based smartphone Samsung, which allows you to steal money from Bank cards. The skimmer is disguised as an electronic terminal, which is often used in shops.

A device that completely mimics the panel with the keys of the ATM, was collected from Samsung smartphones and comes with a fully working keyboard. They are installed on the POS terminals for cashless payment and steal passwords from the card, and the data with NFC chips, contactless payment.

The skimmer was able to detect after one of the American shopping centres was the failure of the ATM. Having opened it, experts found a suspicious device that was attached to the keyboard with numbers. Once a Bank customer put the card in and typed the password, all data is automatically transmitted to the fraudsters.

Skimmers also support the contactless payment chip and PIN-codes. They transmit cardholder data to the nearest Bluetooth device. For example, information from the card criminals could get, being in vehicles in Parking lots.
