Samsung has officially unveiled an 18.4-inch tablet Galaxy View. For a start it is worth to mention that in the press release the company calls the new product “tablet”. That is, the document does not contain the words “tablet”, “monoblock” or some other, environmental novelty to one category or another.
Samsung claim that it is the largest mobile device running Android on the market. Primarily the gadget is focused on movies and TV shows at home. For ease of consuming video content it is equipped with a special stand that allows you to place the tablet on the table. It cannot be folded.
At such large dimensions, the display resolution is just 1920 x 1080 pixels. The tablet has got stereo speakers with power of 4 W, an eight-core processor Exynos 7580 1.6 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB to store files. The front camera has a resolution of 2.5 megapixels. The battery will allow you to continually view the video for 8 hours (its capacity is estimated at 5700 mAh). View Galaxy on pre-installed operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop, there is support for NanoSIM, working only with LTE. Dimensions of the device are 275,8 x 451,8 x 11.9 mm with a weight of 2,65 kg.
As for positioning, it is quite vague. The manufacturer mentions the product as a cooking device, but indicates a desire to provide clients with new opportunities and the best “mobile experience”. In addition, the document says that the Galaxy View is optimized for consumption of information, and the emphasis is placed on viewing videos.
It is highly likely that the Galaxy View will cost less than previously presented iPad Pro minimum cost of $ 800. Officially, the price and the date of receipt of the tablet on sale is not reported.
