Samsung is preparing a display for smartphones with a resolution of 11K and a density of 2250 ppi

Samsung has begun to develop displays for smartphones with a resolution of 11K. Razor-sharp screen with a high density of pixels per inch should be a competitive differentiator for the next generation of mobile electronics, the South Korean brand.

Samsung is working on a display in partnership with the South Korean government, which decided to invest in “promising” technology. The pixel density on this screen will reach 2250 dpi. For the development will require investments in the amount of approximately $26.5 million

On a project codenamed EnDK Samsung works in collaboration with thirteen Korean and foreign companies.

For what purposes will need this screen, Samsung says, but hints at a “3D effect”. Journalists ETNews suggest that we are talking about some three-dimensional optical illusions. The density of pixels on a modern smartphone screens with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels reaches 576 dots per inch.

It is expected that in 2018, Samsung will be able to provide the first public prototype of a screen with super high resolution. And in 2019 will appear and the first commercial version of a smartphone with a 11K.
