Samsung has thought through the use of a smartphone with a folding screen

The first prototype foldable display Samsung demonstrated back in 2011, and since then in the network regularly appeared rumors about the preparation of serial production of smartphones with such a screen. According to fresh patents of Samsung in Seoul have thought of the possibility of the implementation of the technology and try to fully master its potential. In the first paper describes the design, include, along with the flexible screen, a two-dimensional matrix of elements connected by “artificial muscles”. The device is divided into sections connected with hinges. Electronic components can be distributed between sections.

Another patent describes the interaction between the user and the smartphone, based on a flexible display. For example, gadget, recognizing commands in the form of flexion and extension, can change the information displayed on the screen by switching between running applications. Complementing flexion and extension by other actions, for example, tilts or turns, you can activate other functions.

It is noteworthy that Samsung does not limit the scope of the inventions smartphones. The company is also included in the patent tablets, e-books, media players and other devices, including smart watches, glasses and laptops.

In the absence of the impact the flexible display can take a flat shape, and stands up. This allows you to bend and straighten it with just one finger.
