Brand column, Apple has failed to conquer the market. Sales were lower than expected.
Some analysts predicted HomePod success, and many thought its obviously a failed product. Until right that second. According to Strategy Analytics, Apple managed to sell 700,000 speakers in the last quarter and 1.3 million in 2018. This is 5.9% of the total market of smart speakers.
In this direction unconditionally lead Amazon and Google. They occupy 41% and 27.6%, respectively. Apple is in fourth place. The third – Alibaba 7.0%.
It should be noted that now the column is only sold in three countries: USA, England and Australia. But the same applies to other smart columns, which officially sold only in the United States and several other countries.
Apple itself does not disclose sales results for the HomePod. This device is listed under “other”, which includes Apple Watch, the AirPods and all kinds of accessories. Therefore, the financial statements of the company to isolate one column and find out the results of its sales impossible.
