The Presnensky district court of Moscow has transferred hearings under the claim of the Russian Dmitry Petrov for Apple and its reseller re:Store on the inadequacy of the iPhone’s memory with the stated manufacturer. On Thursday, reports RAPSI. According to the publication, the complaint will be considered on may 22.
The reason for the adjournment of the trial was the need for applicants to prepare the case, and the petition of the Respondent about appointment of judicial examination. Petrov said that he would seek the admission of guilt of the American Corporation.
In the beginning of 2016 Muscovite purchased iPhone 6s with a storage capacity of 16 GB, but later discovered that memory is not true, namely, underestimated in 26% and is less than 12 GB. As it turned out, the memory device corresponds to the international system of calculation in which 1 GB is 1000 MB.
However, on the territory of the Russian Federation according to the decree of the RF Government, adopted in 2009, 1 GB equals 1024 MB. In this regard, the plaintiff demands to return spent on the purchase of the phone cash in the amount of 54 000, and 45 000 in compensation and court expenses.
Apple is not the first time accused of such. In 2007 against the company was filed for what is in the 8-Gigabyte iPod Nano was not informed that the user has only a 7.45 GB (7.5% less). In 2015 a group of users filed a lawsuit on her because she did not report the amount of memory required to install the new update iOS 8.
But, among other things, the problem is often much more serious: for example, Microsoft has charged that users of the basic versions of Surface could dispose of only half of the drive due to the large volume OS.
