Russia wants to create a national Internet filter

By 2020 Russia will have a national system of filtering the Internet traffic (Nasfic), according to “Izvestia”. She would have to protect children from the negative and dangerous content. Minors can only visit trusted sites “white list”.
Create Nasfic provided by the state program “the Digital economy”, which is July 31, approved by the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. The end of the first quarter of 2019 should be developed architecture and prototype Nasfic and identifies necessary resources. In 2020 the system should be commissioned.
The initiators of such a system was made by a member of the Council of Federation Elena Mizulina and the League of safe Internet. Now considering two options for the implementation of national filtering system. The first is to filter traffic only in educational institutions. The second is filtering by default for all users. Citizens will be able to visit the sites only from the “white list”, and in order to access unfiltered content, you will need to write a letter to the Internet service provider or change the settings in the personal Cabinet.
