Russia entered the top three countries with the cheapest mobile Internet

Russia has been in the top three of countries with the cheapest mobile Internet. It is reported by RBC with reference to the study of the analytical Agency Content Review. On average Russians 1 GB costs 117 rubles – the British and the Japanese pay much more.

First was the Iran — this country is one GB of mobile Internet is 13 rubles (calculated at the exchange rate on August 28, 2015). On the second — Pakistan (68 rubles per GB).

Technological “leaders” in mobile communication is traditionally considered to be Japan and South Korea, according to analysts, they were at the end of the ranking with an unexpectedly high price per Gigabyte. So, users of Japanese NTT DoCoMo pay per 1 GB 924 rubles, and South Korea’s SK Telecom — 807 RUB for most mobile Internet get paid in Algeria: 1 GB you have to shell out rubles 2010, the study showed.

In the UK one GB of Internet at an average cost of 1104 ruble, Germany — in 812,4 of the ruble in the U.S. — in 531,3 of the ruble.

In Russia the price of mobile Internet in recent years steadily decreased: this is due to high competition among the operators and with the growing popularity of bundled tariff plans, noted in Content Review. Agree and representatives of all operators “the big three”.

To calculate the cost of mobile Internet Content Review took a batch tariffs, with the amount of traffic about 3 GB (this value as close as possible to the average consumption of mobile Internet in Russia and in the world). From each country were selected, one operator-leader: either by number of subscribers, or the number of mobile Internet users. Russia was represented by “MegaFon” as the leader in the segment of mobile Internet version of Content Review.

The study involved 50 countries with the highest nominal gross domestic product for 2014 according to the International monetary Fund.
