Hacker group Vairs Team has promised to release untethered jailbreak for iOS 9.2. As reported in the official Twitter account of the developers, the app from TaiG will debut today during the day.
More than two months ago, Apple killed the jailbreak for iOS 9.0.x. Released since updating to iOS 9.1, 9.2, and 9.2.1 still not compatible with software solutions hackers. The new tool will be available only for Windows.
Recall that the break-in “nines” using the utility from Pangu was blocked by Apple on October 21 with the release of the update iOS 9.1. Thus, iOS 9.0.2 is the latest version firmware compatible with the jailbreak. Apple stopped signing the software, so to restore to previous iOS versions is not possible.
It is known that at present two hacker group Pangu and TaiG are working on a jailbreak for iOS 9.2/9.2.1. At the end of December it was reported that the completion of utilities for hacking is almost complete, but the exact release date is unknown.
This week renowned developer Luke Todesco, who previously helped Apple in search of security holes in previous versions of iOS, confirmed the existence of iOS jailbreak 9.2.1/9.3, releasing a video. Prior to that, he posted on his Twitter a message about successful hacking iOS 9.2.1, but noted that he was not going to release the exploit code for widespread use.
Users were confident that the release of the jailbreak for regular users will be only after the release of a stable version of iOS 9.3. But, apparently, TaiG decided not to wait for the new OS that will allow Apple to release a fix.
