Battery is based on the isotope Ni-63 and perfectly safe, says the head of the FGUP “NII NPO Luch” (the enterprise of Rosatom) Pavel Zaitsev. He noted that the volt-ampere characteristics of the new power source is small, but as a power source for, for example, medical pacemakers, is well suited.
