Putin adviser: Pokemon Go can download up to 60% of users

Mobile games can download to their smartphones to 60% of users. The hype created around the app, you can compare with the popularity of Angry Birds and Tetris, “he said on Monday to journalists by the adviser of the President of Russia Herman Klimenko during a visit to youth forum “Territory meanings on the Klyazma”.

“In theory, the virus is subjected to 60 percent of the population <…> In each period of time there is a game or a hobby which covers the majority of the population. The question is, when the fashion for the game will be, will be, will turn into something serious or go away” – leads TASS words of the Advisor to the President.

According to Klimenko, the largest concentration of fishers of pokemon is expected in the capital. “Here I wonder how much of the additional reality will enter our lives in Moscow she walks exactly in the regions with worse Internet”, – said the presidential adviser.

Klimenko believes that the state should not intervene in the placement of virtual objects of the game Pokemon Go in the real world. We are talking about the so-called pokescope – special points on the map Pokemon Go in which the player can replenish resources to continue the game, and get some bonuses.

The map coincides with the map of the real world, and the system automatically places pokescope near the most notable public places — monuments, museums, art installations, churches, cemeteries, playgrounds and other cultural and social objects. This leads to the fact that fans of the game begin to “precipitate” such objects to behave incorrectly.

In Russia, one of the deputies took the initiative to prohibit to place objects Pokemon Go to religious institutions, prisons, hospitals and other social facilities, as well as places of burial and monuments in close proximity.

At the same time, the Japanese Nintendo owning the Pokemon Go, has already declared its readiness to receive complaints from users regarding the placement of virtual objects in inappropriate places.

“What does the state? It seems to me that society and the company quite to itself communicate. There are instances where companies have violated some taboo and society punished them publicly. Here the state should not interfere”, – Klimenko told, answering a question on necessity of regulation of this issue.

“Each society will develop its position. And I somehow think that if we did not win Doom, we did not win “Tetris,” we have not won the Angry Birds, and pokemon, we will not win”, – he stressed.

Earlier, the Minister of communications and mass communications of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov also said that he sees no need to regulate the use of the game Pokemon Go.
