Of course, these sequences are easy to remember, but they are so easily hacked and compromised online accounts or establish control over your digital identity. The company’s specialists Keeper, specializing in creating software for password management, found that more than 50% of people use simple passwords that easy to guess by criminals.

Experts analyzed 10 million passwords and compiled a list of the most popular in 2016. Most of them turned out to be very unsafe: they are simple combination of numbers and letters. In the first five words of the popular hit: “123456”, “123456789”, “qwerty”, “12345678”, “111111”.

“Despite the fact that most users know about the risks, they do not put enough effort to protect their accounts. As a result, much responsibility falls on the shoulders of owners of Internet services, which ignore the basic rules and do not impose a strict policy of password complexity,” – said the expert.

It is noteworthy that in the list of the most popular there is an exception – password “18atcskd2w,” the 15th in the list. According to security researcher Graham Cluley, accounts secured with passwords that were created by robots to send spam to online forums.

Keeper Security experts warned that software for password cracker can guess the codes that have a length of six characters in a matter of seconds, especially if they are using serial keys.
