Politician from San Francisco persuaded the looters to return stolen iPhone

If you have a stolen iPhone, that’s no reason to get upset. There is a simple way to return the loss – to negotiate with the robbers. At least, this technique worked in American politics.

Scott Wiener really was able to get out of an unpleasant situation, in which most of us can get confused. Portal Ars Technica told the story of an American whose iPhone was in the hands of robbers. But as a result of negotiations with the criminals he was able to return the gadget, paying $200.

Wiener stopped at a crosswalk in San Francisco and pulled out the iPhone to check mail. Suddenly a woman came in accompanied by two men, who snatched the gadget from his hands. The politician asked her to give the phone, but she refused. Wiener said he was willing to pay $500, but he might need the cash in the nearest ATM.

Throughout the road to the banking terminal Scott Wiener spoke to the robbers, being able to bring down the price to $200. Although, I must say, later he could use the remote lock the iPhone, which significantly affect the cost of the device.

Be that as it may, the criminals agreed with the mentioned amount. Then they asked a passing girl to act as an intermediary in the exchange of money smartphone. Scott paid $200. Thus he managed to get the robbers in sight of security cameras to ATMs Wells Fargo.

“After they left, I was with a girl and a security officer went to the Bank to call the police. We waited for the police car and explained what had happened. In the evening the police were ready to arrest the criminal,” explained Scott Wiener.

The story is an example of what the smartphone theft ceases to be profitable. Though not everyone will have enough courage to negotiate with the robbers, however, do not forget that you have all the chances to return the stolen iPhone.
