Polar M600: a hybrid fitness tracker and smart watch on Android Wear

Polar introduced the “smart” watch for people leading an active lifestyle. The company calls the model M600 world’s first sport smart watches, running on the operating system Android Wear.

The device is a peculiar hybrid fitness tracker and wrist “smart” watches. The novelty is built on a processor MediaTek MT2601 and has advanced functionality, including support for heart rate measurement by optical method, built-in GPS module and a 1.3-inch display with a resolution of 240 × 240 pixels.

Thanks MT2601 wearable wrist gadget can run for two days on a single charge. In the configuration of the chipset includes two ARM Cortex-A7, running at 1.2 GHz. In addition, it has support for a GPS system and communication channels, including Bluetooth technology with low power consumption.

Polar M600 can be used to track different kinds of activity — running, Cycling and swimming (the gadget has a waterproof performance). Additionally, you may register the duration and quality of sleep. Data collection is carried out around the clock.

“Designed for communications and active lifestyles, the watch Polar M600 will help user to organize their training and, as a consequence, my life,” said Marco Suvilaakso, Director of new product development of the company Polar. The model has 4 GB of internal memory to store collected metrics, and musical compositions. Food provides a battery capacity of 500 mAh, charge which, allegedly, enough for two days.

Polar M600 will go on sale in white and black color versions for about $330.
