Patent Troll Micro Design has accused Apple of patent infringement in iPhone and iPad

Apple has presented another lawsuit, this time in the USA. Patent Troll Micro Design has accused California giant of violating the patent on the technology of processors and demanded compensation.

Earache document, Apple sells and offers for sale within the United States goods which infringed the patent under number 7437535. The violation found in the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad, iPad Air, iPad Mini 3, iPad Air 2 and other Apple devices. The said patent relates to a processor and the coprocessor.

A patent Troll is an individual or a legal entity, specializing in the filing of lawsuits. They prefer to call themselves patent holding companies or dealers. Micro Design is a typical representative of this direction, not leading any independent production activities. Companies like this sometimes even specifically buy other people’s patents to wage a legal process and capitalize on this.

At the time, Micro Design acquired the patent, which sued the manufacturer of the iPhone, the company Applied Micro Circuits. It describes the interaction between the processor, coprocessor, and memory when performing a single-step commands.

Earlier this year, Micro Design has already filed similar lawsuits against Cray, HTC, Motorola, Amazon, LG and Sony. The lawsuit filed by Apple will begin in September.
