The devices ahead are very interesting – those who know the brand are aware that for the price and quality it is very difficult to find something better. Well, Plantronics always has an interesting design, great sound and interesting features.
Today let's talk about inexpensive Bluetooth headphones for sports. Flew! Next Monday I’ll try to finish the review of the gaming wireless headset for the PS4 – the top thing, I’ve been using it for a long time.
Design
I like the way Plantronics tries to add something like this to each product: in the 350th model, the color of the cup and a small portion of the cable are different. For example, in my test headphones are gray, but on the right side everything is so white, beautiful. Cool.
You can also choose headphones in black or blue, there is also the right earphone with a chip. I also like a braid made of fabric: such material is always more interesting than ordinary rubber or plastic, there is a feeling of comfort, and it looks cooler with clothes.
And it doesn’t matter whether it is a sports uniform or a jacket. In some ways, it even resembles Bang & Olufsen products: we cannot imagine them without fabric, leather and other excesses. As the experience of Plantronics shows, it can be done beautifully in inexpensive products.
The control panel is healthy, I don’t know why it happened. I really want to tear off the plug of the micro-USB connector and throw it away forever, it reminds me so much of 2007 and the heyday of Bluetooth devices. This is not necessary now.
In addition to the plugs, there is nothing to complain about. Very nice materials of the arms, moderately hard rubber: not too soft and not too dense. Nozzles of their form, there are o-rings, in the ears this whole economy is not particularly felt, it sits perfectly. There is a carbine for attaching to the shirt, you can move it back and fasten the shirt there.
Since the headset is sports, there is protection against drops, splashes according to the IPX5 standard, protection against sweat is claimed. As for me, in the gym along with the 350th model is more convenient than with AirPods. It's like with sports shoes: at least crack, but in urban sneakers it’s not very good to go to training. It’s cool with AirPods, but if there is a lot of sweat, then this is not good for headphones, and they can fly out with active training, you can name other reasons. In any case, the specialized model for training is better suited – the main thing is not to be lazy to take it with you.
Charging time about two hours, fast charging is not supported. I repeat, the price category does not have such complications.
Features
The cable has a reflective coating – small such stripes, but visible from afar in low light. Now it’s August, the day is getting shorter, people don’t run less, some in black, so make sure at least with headphones. In the dark, these stripes are visible quite far, I checked.
Naturally, it supports working with two devices at the same time: for example, with a smartphone and laptop – with one watch a movie, and receive calls from the second. Or you can connect directly to two smartphones.
Passive sound insulation is very good, thanks to thoughtful nozzles for this.
Music
6 mm driver, Bluetooth 4.1 profile, headphones tested with iPhone XR, iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 11. There are no problems connecting, the range is about seven meters, then artifacts and all sorts of rubbish begin. But here the ether is as polluted as possible. In the hall, within direct line of sight, you can safely walk eight to nine meters.
There is bass, for a wireless headset this is very important. Naturally, you better try different types of nozzles, find your pair. Nozzles are not deep in the ears, but not to say that very close is optimal. The volume margin is large, the sound is clear, without artifacts and bounce. Volume is. For headphones for 4,500 rubles, this is just fine.
Verdict
Great headphones for 4,500 rubles. I see only the pros: cool design, convenient controls (in life, these scary buttons are very convenient), excellent sound quality. By cons, I’ll just mention micro-USB, Plantronics or Poly – guys, let's move on to USB Type-C forever.
