So, why did you choose this model for the test? Everyone has their own criteria for choosing a smartphone. In my opinion, the phone should have a good camera, NFC and decent working time. How are things with the new OPPO A9 2020, now I’ll tell you.
Long running
A battery of as much as 5000 mAh – yes, this is not the first OPPO smartphone with a battery of such impressive capacity, but I can only rejoice for inexpensive Android smartphones. In practice, it turns out about two to three days of work without recharging, which, in my opinion, is very decent.
A pleasant fact: if you use an OTG cable, you can turn the OPPO A9 2020 into a mobile Power Bank. The bottom line is that the smartphone supports reverse charging and can charge any other device.
It is a pity that the kit does not have powerful charging, here the power supply is only 10 W, so it takes more than three hours to fully charge a smartphone from 0 to 100%. Like all modern OPPO smartphones, the new A9 2020 charges via USB Type-C.
Many cameras do not exist
Now we’ll test the cameras, as there are five of them here. Let's start with the front: the room produces some strange colors, it all depends on the lighting conditions.
The main camera is 48 megapixels, I liked the phone with good color reproduction and decent detail. By default, the camera takes pictures in 12-megapixel resolution, and you can enable the king-mode at 48 megapixels in the settings. But is it necessary? It is difficult to feel the difference in quality, so I advise you to leave everything as it is.
If you plan to shoot at night or in the evening, then be sure to include a special mode with the logical name “Night”. Then the phone takes several frames and glues them into one. It is a pity that the process lasts a relatively long time, five seconds, but the result is worth it.

In addition, we also get a wide-angle module, macro mode, and an auxiliary lens for processing the depth of the frame when shooting portraits complements the picture.
Wide-angle optics are not so hot what quality, but this is still a common problem for all smartphones with such lenses. By the way, the night mode also works when shooting with this lens, the idea is interesting, but the result is not impressive. A couple of wide-angle examples:
A special macro mode starts automatically when you approach the phone to the desired object. He doesn’t focus very close, so removing the scratches on the laptop case when you place an ad on Avito will not work. But you can adapt, here is an example:
OPPO says that the video in the phone is especially smooth, the electronic stabilization system is very good. I tried it – I liked it, the videos come out without sharp movements, although you remove them from your hands and without special devices.
Just a huge screen
The phone is of impressive size, the screen sizes are as expected: the display has an elongated vertical display with a diagonal of 6.5 inches. Wow. The aspect ratio is 20: 9, there is no particular benefit in this, just a fashionable trend. But it was possible to keep the body width at an acceptable level, although there is no question of controlling with one hand.
The frames around the screen are moderately wide, with a large “chin” visible, and when you hold the phone in your hand, you can feel the transition between the display and the case.
The OPPO A9 2020 has a display with support for Sunlight – the essence of the chip is that we get a brighter screen than usual. It sounds vague, but according to my feelings, it is more likely an advertising trick: the margin of brightness is at the usual level.
Given the huge 6.5-inch diagonal, the resolution is low, the fonts are grainy. This IPS-display does not have enough contrast for me: the image is pale and I want to add colors. That rare case when you start to miss OLED displays.
Frisky small
Everything is fine with the performance, because the OPPO A9 2020 received the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and 4 GB of RAM. In the popular AnTuTu test, we get a decent result:
The secret of success is the combination of a fresh chip and an HD screen, the games are sprightly, there are no jams, you can play PUBG with average graphics settings. The case heats up after 15-20 minutes of play, but the temperature is at an acceptable level. In the menu, of course, without brakes, with the interface speed, ColorOS is okay. Android version 9.0, with respect to updates to the tenth version, no news. Alas, the problems with the Russification of the menu remained: as before, clumsy transfers of letters are encountered in the interface in places.
The phone has very loud speakers, the quality of stereo sound is good. Firstly, he plays cleanly and does not wheeze, unless you try to turn on hard rock to its full potential. Secondly, we get a semblance of a volumetric effect when you watch a video. Thirdly, you won’t miss the call, although the rules of business etiquette still recommend putting the smartphone in silent mode so as not to shock office neighbors with your favorite Boomer ringtone.
NFC in place
Two slots for SIM cards are a common thing, but the third compartment for a memory card is not found in every smartphone of this class. I am glad that the OPPO A9 2020 did not disappoint, and one of the SIM cards will not have to be sacrificed if you want to install a memory card.
Special thanks I want to say for the presence of NFC: the chip is in place, you can pay for purchases or replenish the card balance on the subway.
Lock & Protect
The fingerprint scanner is located behind the protruding unit with cameras. It works quickly, I have no questions about speed, but when you try to find it blindly, you accidentally get to the lower lens.
If desired, you can use a less reliable way of protection – face lock. But in case you are going to use your smartphone to pay for purchases through NFC, you still have to enter your finger data.
Glossy Beauty
A model without a spectacular periscope camera in the spirit of Reno2 or the original body painting, as was the case with OPPO Reno FC Barcelona Edition.

However, the design is nice: the curved back surface shimmers depending on the lighting. Beautiful, catchy, but Marco – the usual costs of gloss. I note that the case is not made of glass, but of plastic. It’s too difficult to feel the difference – if I didn’t know, it would be easy to make a mistake.
Equipment
In the box with the phone lies a USB Type-C cable, a charger, a plump silicone case and wired headphones. The set is simple, but there is everything necessary – they did not save on accessories.
How much is
In Russia, the OPPO A9 2020 is already on sale, the phone costs 19,990 rubles. Not so long ago we tested a little-known, but completely new TCL Plex for the same money. It is more powerful, there is a better screen, but less time.

If you need a good camera, long working hours and decent performance – OPPO A9 2020 meets all these requirements. At the same time, the price of a smartphone makes you think about buying, it turns out a little expensive. But in this case, I can advise OPPO A5 2020 – almost everything is the same, but already six thousand rubles cheaper.
