Offline maps MAPS.ME learned how to build Hiking trails

Service MAPS.ME providing maps and navigation offline, is now able to create walking routes. The new feature is available in mobile applications for iOS and Android.

The service uses crowdsourcing data of the OpenStreetMap project (OSM). Members of the OSM community to jointly create a detailed map of the world, editing maps the known location. Every day thousands of editors make about 2 million additions and edits. With this in MAPS.ME showing all the countries and items such as walkways and stairs, even in the most exotic locations and boundaries of individual territories and closed the gates. This allows the service to find optimal pedestrian routes and build the shortest path from point A to point B.

Currently MAPS.ME contains about 2.4 million km of pedestrian roads around the world (including 12,000 km of stairs).
