Nougat Android 7.0 will be released before iOS 10, but only for “standard” devices

Even before the announcement of the official name of Android 7.0 Nougat the developers have promised in the shortest terms to pass the final release of the operating system manufacturers. According to well-known insider Evleaks, the debut of the new software platform Google will be held in August – a month earlier iOS 10.

We are talking about users “reference” Nexus line. Among the compatible models hit smartphones and tablets 5X Nexus, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Pixel C. Users phone Nexus 5, released in 2013, will remain without the new OS. The main support of the office ended last year, soon it will cease to receive security fixes.

Android 7.0 Nougat contains more than 250 changes and fixes. Among the major innovations the developers call the increase in time of offline work, support for virtual reality, “instant application”, new multitasking capabilities.

N Android was the first operating system version from Google that support multiwindow mode. Users will be able to display two different applications at the same time and set convenient size of the Windows. This feature appeared on the iPad last year.

One of the interesting features in Android is a background refresh. This concept assumes that the platform uses one section of the repository, and the second to install the update. Updates will be automatically downloaded to the device in the background. As soon as the user reboots the smartphone or tablet, he can use the new version of the OS, without the interruption of a process of interaction with the device.

Note that in August Nougat Android 7.0 will be available only for a limited number of devices made by Google’s partners. When the new OS will reach other manufacturers, is unknown. At the moment, released last year, Android 6.0 Marshmallow got only 13.3% of the holders “guglofonov”, while on iOS 9 work 86% of all Apple mobile devices.
