Nokia has introduced a 360-degree virtual reality camera OZO [video]

Nokia introduced its first virtual reality device. It is not about the helmet, and specialized spherical camera for professional content creators.

A device called OZO made in the form of a sphere, the surface of which eight optical modules with sensors. The novelty is capable of capturing 3D video with a viewing angle of 360 degrees and record the sound from eight directions.

Nokia say that OZO will be indispensable for the filming of three-dimensional movies, virtual tours, creating games for new generations. The companion software allows you to view three-dimensional video content in real time.

Camera OZO was the first device in a new product line of Nokia Technologies. It is known that the novelty will be produced in Finland, and its delivery is planned at the end of the current year.

With the cost of the product Nokia has not yet decided, but the manufacturer promises that the price will be low compared with existing analogues.

It should be noted that the system for circular stereoscopic video has already released other well-known companies. For example, Samsung late last year announced the initiative Project Beyond: this device is made in the case of a circular shape, in the side of which there are eight dual camera modules. Thus, only uses 16 cameras, each of which records video in Full HD.
