New Night Shift mode in iOS 9.3 will protect the vision iPhone and iPad users

On Monday Apple released the first beta version of iOS 9.3, which appeared in a special night operation. The function was called Night Shift.

The essence of Night Shift is that at night the color scheme of the screens of the iPhone and iPad will be warm up and in the morning to go back to the normal position. Driving mode is possible from the “display & brightness” settings in the operating system iOS. Here you can adjust the color temperature (from cold blue to warm yellow), enable the “Decrease blue” and configure the schedule.

“Many studies have shown that exposure to bright blue light in the evening may affect your circadian rhythms, which complicates the process of falling asleep. Night mode will use the time and geolocation data from your device to determine the sunset time in your region”, – stated on the Apple website.

According to a study by a British doctor Paul Gringras emitted by smartphones blue and green prevent the release of the hormone melatonin, which makes it easier to fall asleep and is also responsible for circadian rhythms. According to Gringras, telephone use before bedtime delays the moment of falling asleep for about an hour.

Previously the mode of operation is similar to Night Shift was available for iPhone and iPad with jailbreak. The function implemented by the developer of the program called f.lux. Apple was forbidden to publish this tool in the directory the App Store, apparently in order not to create competition for his decision. f.lux is also available as apps for Windows, Mac and Linux.
