New iMac performance “server-level” will be released in late 2017

Apple will begin production of two new models of the iMac in may, and the official presentation and the start of sales monoblock machines is scheduled for the second half of the year. Such information includes Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimes, referring to sources in the supply chain.

It is reported that Apple is currently testing a iMac with server-grade performance. This product is intended to be a competitor to the newly released monoblock Surface Studio from Microsoft.

According to sources, a powerful computer all-in-one will house server processor Intel Xeon E3-1285 v6 from 16 to 64 GB of RAM ECC RAM, “the latest discrete graphics” and SSD with NVMe interface capacity of 2 TB. Appearance of new items in the sale will be held in late 2017. Feature memory ECC is a system of error correction that improves the overall reliability of the system.

Currently, Apple releases iMac with 21.5 and 27-inch. The company will update the devices in the third quarter, in time to begin sales in the new year season.
