Monitor LG UltraFine 5K presented on the presentation of the new MacBook Pro delayed indefinitely

In October of this year, along with a MacBook Pro were presented a 27-inch 5K monitor UltraFine from LG. Of course, this is not an Apple 5K Cinema Display, the launch of which is expected by many “MacOS users”, but today it is the best choice for users of “Apple” products out of all available on the market.

Apple has decided to abandon its own Thunderbolt Display in favour of the LG, considering them the optimal solution for MacBook owners. However, as it turns out, to wait the beginning of sales of monitors are not worth it. 5K-displays the South Korean manufacturer is simply not available in the online Apple store and it is unclear when they will appear.

LG 5K UltraFine equipped with a built-in camera, stereo speakers, a microphone, and three USB ports-C (5 Gbps each) for connecting peripherals. The device is able to charge the MacBook via a single Thunderbolt cable USB 3-C, providing up to 85 watts of charging power.

If to speak directly about the display, it uses high-quality IPS-matrix with a resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels, wide color gamut, P3 and brightness of 500 CD/m2. In the Apple emphasize that the monitor you created in close cooperation with LG, is perfect for editing photos and videos, giving you 77 percent more space compared to 4K UHD.

It was initially reported that UltraFine 5K will go on sale in December. Recently it became known that LG delayed the release of the device on the market, and now appeared information that the South Korean company confirmed the delay, but does not explain the reasons.

Initially, the price of UltraFine 5K Display was stated at 1299 dollars. But in early November, Apple unexpectedly cut the price to $ 975. At this time, no estimated date of appearance of new items in the sale yet.
