Mobile operators warned of a 300% rise in tariffs from-for “Spring law”

According to the representative of Tele2 Konstantin Prokshin, prices of cell phones may increase for all subscribers as a result of compliance with the new standards. The document obliges operators for 3 years to store information about calls, messages, photos, audio and video files. Within six months, data will be stored about the content of the conversations and correspondence.

“These expenses in tens times exceeds the volume of the large-scale investment program for the construction and extension of networks, which leads Tele2, and will slow down or even stop the development of the infrastructure,” he said.

The state Duma adopted the anti-terrorism package on June 24, Monday it was approved by the Federation Council. Operators repeatedly stressed that the storage of such large volumes of information will lead to a huge cost of network upgrades, data warehousing, etc. They called the amount of 2.2 trillion rubles.

According to representatives of mobile operators, this will lead to growth of tariffs. “In the case of the amendments to the tariffs of operators will grow about three times”, — said the head of the press service of “MegaFon” Julia Dorokhin. Representatives of MTS and “Beeline” have refrained from comments on this issue.

In the first quarter of 2016, the average cost of minute of conversation in the networks of MTS 0,82 rubles, “Beeline” — 0,92 rubles, at Tele2 — 0.6 rubles.

On 27 June it became known that cellular operators MTS, Beeline, MegaFon and Tele2 has written to the Chairman of the Federation Council (FC) Valentina Matvienko the letter with the request to reject the state Duma adopted the law, which, among other things, requires operators to store information about the facts of the conversations and correspondence of the users and their content.

Anti-terrorism package of laws, the state Duma adopted on 24 June, the Federation Council approved it on June 29. The final decision will be made by the President of Russia.
