The first large segments of 5G networks may appear in our country by 2019, the ninth year. This was announced by Deputy Minister of communications and mass communications of the Russian Federation Dmitry Alkhazov.
The communications Ministry believes that the launch of the fifth generation networks will allow to perform the capabilities of technology before wider deployment. According to the Deputy Minister, in 2019-2020 will be “more or less large segments of 5G networks. This will give the opportunity to understand what this technology is and what it gives to the customers.”
“I would now say that in 2019-2020, we will see some of the first more or less large fractions of these (5G) networks,” said alhazov.
It is projected that 5G network will be deployed by 2025 in cities ranging from 300 000 inhabitants. At least eight cities with a population of over 1 million inhabitants 5G network should appear in 2020, by 2025, 15 cities.
Telecommunication technologies of the future will increase the speed of information transmission in a metropolis of up to several gigabits per second, which is ten times higher than the rates available in practice in the modern 4G networks.
The ranges for the deployment of 5G networks must be approved by the Eurasian economic Union. It is expected that this will happen by 2018. This discussion is already underway at the International telecommunication Union. However, a single standard for networking this kind of industry is still not adopted.
