Ming-Chi Kuo: Foxconn should ship 25-30 million iPhone X until end of 2017

According to reports from KGI Securities analyst, the only manufacturer of iPhone X in the last quarter of 2017 release only 25-30 million smartphones instead of the planned 30-35 million units.

By the first quarter of 2018 the situation should improve. The expected increase in supply by 50%.

“The biggest difficulty associated with the production of 3D-sensors required for the system, Face ID, has managed to overcome. Contracts with two new contractors: LG Innotek and Sharp. This will allow to increase volumes of supplies in November and December 2017,” — said Kuo in a report.

Cooperation with LG Innotek will help Apple to solve the problem of shortage of OLED screens. One of the divisions of the Corporation LG already supplies batteries for the iPhone X. In 2017 screens for iPhone Samsung produces X, but Cupertino decided to change provider for fear of theft of innovations.

The partnership with Sharp has allowed to increase the performance of 3D-sensors and to support General Interface Solution (GIS).

Earlier it was reported that the start of sales of iPhone X — 3 November — the company Foxconn will manage to put only 2 or 3 million smartphones.
