Microsoft has patented its own analogue of the Force Touch technology for Windows-based laptops

Microsoft intends to give the PC innovative technology Mac computers. This is evidenced by the patent application the company this week unveiled the Bureau of patents and trademarks USA.

In the patent under the number 20150130742 describes a technology that allows to distinguish between a light touch on the trackpad and pressing with force. A similar solution is already being used in the MacBook laptops and “smart” watch Apple Watch and is called Force Touch. Notebook computers Apple sensors monitor how much you push the trackpad, and the drive is called the taptic Engine provides a feeling of a click when you press in any part of the surface. This allows you to perform various actions in your applications, using a single work surface.

Apple Watch mechanism Force Touch uses a variety of electrodes around the Retina display to determine the difference between a light touch and a firm push, and provide access to the necessary controls.

In Microsoft believe that Force Touch in their implementation may find application not only in the touchpads of laptops or mobile devices, but to touch keyboards type of Surface tablets. During typing, for example, the described system can weed out accidental key presses.
