Media: the release of the iPhone with OLED displays will begin in November or December

Apple may delay the release of the iPhone with an OLED display. As reports DigiTimes, with reference to the publication of resource Economic Daily News, the start of production of the device will begin in November or December of this year.

List of smartphones that Apple is planning to release in the fall, includes the iPhone 7s with LCD screen size of 4.7 inches, the iPhone 7s Plus with LCD screen size of 5.5 inches and a model with the OLED screen. Foxconn got about 95% of the Assembly orders of the latter and a small Assembly orders the other two models. Pegatron is responsible for producing 65% of iPhone 7s and a small amount of devices with OLED screen. A third manufacturing partner of Apple — the company Wistron is mainly going to release the iPhone 7s Plus.

Foxconn and Pegatron have already begun trial production of new iPhone models with LCD screens, indicates the source. However, it is not possible to bring the percentage of usable products to the level required for the deployment of mass production. It is expected that this will happen in August. The lag in the development of serial production, regarding the schedule of the past years is 1-2 months.

The source stressed that the first time the volume of production iPhone with OLED displays are small, which can lead to a shortage of smartphones.
