McDonald’s plans to start to order food at restaurants through the app for smartphones and is considering this option as a prelude to possible development of the shipping service. Writes about this TASS with reference to the managing Director of McDonald’s in Russia by Alexei Semenov. According to him, currently the company is developing a mobile app that will allow visitors to order from your smartphone, and then quickly get it in the restaurant.
“The development is still at the global level. Testing on the local level has not started yet. I think that testing and introduction (depending on how well will be tested) – this is next year”, – said Semyonov. “Mobile checkout” will allow the user to pre-place your order and pay for it (the phone will be tied to the account or to the map). The appearance of the restaurant will need only to receive the order. Technical details of the project are still being developed.
As told in the press service of the company, the ability to order food via the mobile app already exists in McDonald’s restaurants in France.
Semenov also noted that the logical step in the development of mobile order could be delivery of products to McDonald’s. “I hope that in the foreseeable future of mobile ordering with us will appear, and then we’ll have to see how it can be transformed into delivery,” he said. According to managing, the idea of food delivery “in the air”, but so far the company has no ready solutions for this issue.
“On the one hand, this is an interesting direction delivery as such, this segment is growing, developing, we’re looking too. On the other hand to find a solution that satisfies us as a company that is responsible for its standards, and visitors, to them it was convenient and tasty – while there is no solution”, – said Semyonov.
McDonald’s has been present in Russia for 26 years. Currently in Russia there are 551 enterprises McDonald’s fast food, including restaurant 251 “Makavto”. In 2015, McDonald’s has opened 59 restaurants in Russia in 2016, the company plans to open 60 new restaurants, about half of them in the concept of “Makavto”. The company’s investment in the development of the Russian market in 2016 could be around 9 billion rubles.
