Manufacturers of Android smartphones fear a shortage of OLED screens because of the release of the iPhone 8

After it became known that the new generation of Apple’s smartphone will feature a curved OLED display manufacturers started to actively look for suppliers for its products. Companies are afraid that the release of the iPhone 8 will lead to a shortage of components on the market.
Apple will need a huge amount of panels to meet the demand for “Apple” smartphone. Thus, smaller companies may not be able to order shipments of OLED displays for its devices.
According to available information, all the iPhone 8 with OLED display will be curved on the sides of the screens. A supplier of such displays will be made by the company Samsung Display. Experts note that Samsung Display can produce up to 100 million of curved displays for the year. This South Korean company is not physically able to accept the order from anyone else.
An inside source from the supply chain reported that Chinese and other manufacturers have begun to order OLED panels for smartphones in 2017, inspired by rumors about the use of such a display, the iPhone 8. This may cause a shortage of OLED screens and delays this year. Earlier it was reported about the unification of the brands Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo for investing in the unknown manufacturer OLED panels Royole.
