LG quite a long time trying to get Apple’s order for the production of OLED-screens for the iPhone X. it Seems that very soon, the Korean company gets its way. It is reported 9to5Mac.
Recently there was a rumor that Apple has already signed with LG a contract to supply OLED-displau for the new iPhone and stopped the exclusivity of a similar contract with Samsung. In this regard, LG asked to comment on the situation.
The company made a statement about hearing and announced that no paper has not been signed yet. But, judging by the tone treatment this time. As for the details of the transaction are not yet known, all should become clear within a month.
Initially, Apple decided to choose the Samsung as a supplier due to its advanced production technology of OLED screens. But it seems that LG is fast catching up Samsung. Previously, Apple has used the services of both companies to create LCD panels for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The struggle to deal with Apple began after the amount was announced that the company expects to spend on organic displays: 13.7 billion U.S. dollars. It was also reported that Apple will separately pay LG 2.7 billion USD for the production of OLED-screens for the iPhone.
LG is not the only competitor Samsung to supply OLED displays, about which to worry. Recently the BOE announced that it intends to build two large-scale production line of organic screens exclusively for Apple orders.
