KGI: next year Apple will release a completely new iPhone in a glass body and metal frame

Case the next iPhone model, which will debut in 2017, will be completely glass. It is reported by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, often publishing accurate insides of the Apple.

Next year Apple will skip traditional improved generation “S” and immediately to introduce a completely redesigned iPhone 8. The device will receive a significant upgrade design — glass finish, replacing aluminum, to which we are accustomed.

According to Kuo, the glass body of the new iPhone will be fixed on the metal base. It will make use of the latest technologies that will make components for the device is stronger and cheaper. A budget model, as noted, can get aluminum frame.

Apple’s decision to release glass smartphone because of the popularity of the iPhone 7 Jet Black in a glossy black color, the analyst believes. The iPhone 8 will be the glass and front and rear surface, whereby the “Apple” smartphones will permanently get rid of the plastic inserts on the antenna.

The expert expects that Apple will release the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and also, perhaps, another version of the new flagship. The last will receive a large 5.8-inch display. However, due to the finer part of it will be very compact.

That iPhone will move to the glass housing instead of metal was reported in the beginning of the year. Market observers also believe that the iPhone 8 will refuse LTPS LCD panels in favor of brighter, more efficient screens based on OLED technology, which has long been used by Samsung in its phones high-end.

Interestingly, a key supplier of OLED panels for Apple iPhone expected to speak Korean Samsung. Foxconn is also developing its own production technologies OLED displays after absorbing Japanese Sharp earlier this year.
