The share of iOS in the smartphone market in China is growing, but not as fast as before. Last time such low rates of growth observed in 2014. This is stated in the research company Kantar.
The rate of growth of Apple in the period from November 2015 to January 2016, were the lowest since the end of 2014, which, according to analysts, due to increasing sensitivity of users to the cost of production. Despite this, Apple remains the most popular brand among manufacturers of smartphones in the PRC. The share of iPhone accounted for 25% of sales in the Chinese market. In the reporting period, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were the best selling smartphones.
The second most popular brand of smartphone in China – Huawei – reduces the gap with Apple. By the end of the reporting period, the share of its sales was 24.3%, while the share of Xiaomi – the third largest brand in this list – dropped to 10.2% compared with the same period last year.
However, the overall picture in the Chinese market look for Apple not so rosy as we would like. The company significantly lost Android, now occupying 73.9% of the local market. And the share of iOS accounted for only 25% of smartphone sales in China. And in third place in the ranking compiled by analysts is the Windows operating system, occupying only 0.9% of the market.
As for the U.S., there iOS is 39,1% of the market, Android smartphones accounted for 58.2% of all sales, and the presence of Windows is limited to 2,6% of the market.
Analysts note that the majority of Americans, decided to buy smartphone, buy Android gadgets (30,6%), while the share of iPhone accounted for 13.7% of sales. And as his first “Google phone” users prefer to buy Samsung products, followed by devices LG, Motorola, ZTE and Alcatel.
