Despite the hype around the iPhone X and iPhone 8 as well as Apple hopes to beat the record sales in the fourth fiscal quarter, both devices are sold worse than the iPhone 6.

iPhone X and iPhone 8 failed to repeat the success of the iPhone 6

Research firm Consumer Intellegence Research Partners presented a report which identified the significant gap of the new Apple smartphones of 2014 models by the number of copies sold in the United States. iPhone X iPhone and 8 combined have less demand than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus three years ago.

According to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, iPhone, iPhone X and 8 is the share of 69% of all smartphones sold Apple in the first month. The share of iPhone 6 in 2014, over the same period was 91%.

Moreover, in 2017 the company has shown the worst result on sales of flagships in recent years. iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s release date had a great demand and has taken a share of 73% and 71%, respectively.

Probably the reason for the low popularity of the iPhone X is its high price. Not everyone is willing to pay for smartphone 999$. In Russia its cost is starts from 79 990 rubles.

A small demand for the iPhone 8 can be explained by the fact that this device is a little different from the previous model. The old design many boring, no one wants to overpay for him. And new features like wireless charging, apparently, is not so interesting to the General public.

We should not forget that Consumer Intelligence Research Partners conducted the survey only in the United States. At the same time in China, one of the most important markets for Apple sales go up, the number of defectors from Android is growing, and with it the popularity of the iPhone in the country.
