iPhone celebrates eighth birthday

Eight years ago, on 29 June 2007, Apple began selling the iPhone. Presented new product Steve jobs claimed that the new phone is made up of three gadget – iPod with a large screen that can be operated by touch”, a “revolutionary mobile phone” and “Internet Communicator, a breakthrough”. “We have reinvented the phone,” said Apple founder.

iPhone could change the entire mobile industry, despite the fact that originally had a number of disadvantages. The first model didn’t support 3G, GPS, MMS, and other features inherent in the models of the last generation. However, the device in a short time has gained popularity and is now an integral part of life of any modern man.

Despite the skepticism of analysts, the market responded immediately to the official presentation of the smartphone in 2007. Apple shares rose by 8%, and quotations of the companies of the traditional cell phone manufacturers went down. Since then, iPhone has broken all records of popularity, becoming a trendsetter in the mobile market.

From that day to this day Apple has presented nine generations iPhone iPhone EDGE, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – and nine versions of the mobile operating system iOS (the first three was called iPhone OS). Fall 2015 will release the new generation iPhone, which will be the most advanced smartphone from Cupertino.
