According to Omdia analysts, the iPhone 11 was the most sought after smartphone in the first quarter of 2020. During the first three months of 2020, Apple shipped about 19.5 million iPhone 11. Experts explain the high demand for the smartphone with its affordable price and a large range of functions.
“For more than five years, even with all the changes taking place in the mobile market and in the global economy, one thing has remained unchanged in the smartphone business: Apple ranks first or second in the supply of smartphones. Apple's success is the result of its strategy to release a relatively small number of models. This allowed the company to focus on a small number of products that are intended for a wide range of consumers and are sold in extremely large volumes, ”said Jusi Hong, Omdia’s smartphone market research director.
In second place in popularity after the iPhone 11 is the Samsung Galaxy A51, which sold 6.8 million copies over the past quarter. Closes the top three Redmi Note 8 with sales of 6.6 million. By the way, the top ten best-selling smartphones according to Omdia include three more iPhone models. So, in fifth place is the iPhone XR, in sixth – the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and eighth place went to the iPhone 11 Pro.
