iOS 11 installed on 59% of supported devices

Apple has provided new statistical data according to which iOS 11 installed on almost two-thirds of compatible devices.

New firmware for mobile gadgets Apple was announced in June 2017 at WWDC. The public release of iOS 11 was held in September after the presentation of iPhone 8, iPhone 8 and iPhone Plus X.

iOS 11 was one of the most significant updates to Apple’s mobile platform and received a number of brand new functions. Most of them were dictated by the capabilities of the iPhone X — anniversary Apple smartphone with edge-to-edge OLED display.

Since the official release in September on iOS 11 transferred 59% of the owners of compatible devices. Despite the fact that last month the number of users of the new platform increased by 7% — from 52% to 59%, the overall rate of transition to the new product remains very low.

The reluctance of iPhone and iPad users to abandon iOS 10 caused by a large number of errors and issues with the new firmware. Since the official release in September, Apple has released several updates aimed at solving these problems. Most likely, 33% of users who still prefer to stay on iOS 10, have not had time to switch to iOS 11.2. In this major update, Apple has corrected the problems faced by users after installing iOS 11.
