Intel will earn $1.5 billion on chips for the iPhone 7

A contract with Apple to supply chips for iPhone 7 will bring the Intel in excess of $1.5 billion profit. With such a forecast made by analyst firm Cowen & Co.

According to sources, the U.S. chip maker will deliver a “substantial part” of LTE chips for iPhone 7. On its share will have more than 50% of the order. The remaining part will go to Qualcomm.

Cowen & Co indicates that the production of chips from Intel is already established and the company will receive $850 million in operating profit. According to analysts, the deal with Apple is a “psychological victory” for Intel and it may be some other suggestions.

They are working on the preparation of the latest LTE modem Intel 7360 for iPhone 7.
